Weaving Visions Into Reality 

Hello, I’m Anisha Gulrajani—the artist behind Silver Spider Studio. 

Creativity has been woven into the fabric of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Bangalore and born into a family of photographers, I spent much of my childhood traveling through local wildlife parks. Those early days taught me the art of quiet observation—watching, listening, and absorbing the intricate details of the natural world.

From Botany To Blueprints 

My academic journey took me deep into the sciences. While studying Botany and Zoology during my college days, I discovered that drawing detailed sketches of plant and animal life was the part I enjoyed the most. I found that drawing came to me naturally, intuitively, and effortlessly, sparking a genuine and lasting passion for the arts. 

Building A Foundation 

Life soon offered me a bold new chapter: moving to Australia for my education. That leap taught me that life is about taking chances and embracing new experiences. It led me to study Architecture and Urban Planning, where I mastered the fundamentals of art and the core principles of design thinking. I learned how to take ideas and abstract visions, explore those concepts, and give them form—eventually shaping them into tangible realities that exist in the physical world. 

Advancing into a specialization in Interior Architecture, I rediscovered my love for colour. Immersing myself in colour theory, mixing techniques, and harmonies, I also developed a fascination for colour psychology— understanding the significance of each hue, its profound impact on our daily lives, and the symphony that emerges when colours interact. 

From Blueprints To Brushstrokes 

During this time, I also began experimenting with a range of different art mediums, falling in love with the fluid expressiveness of watercolour. It taught me the art of letting go and embracing what the painting wanted to become. In many ways, watercolour became a powerful reflection of my own life: while the quest for perfection and final outcomes is always worth aspiring towards, the true beauty lies in the journey itself —embracing the imperfect now, navigating the struggle, and collecting the quiet wisdom hidden in the process. 

Rewriting The Plan 

My years in architecture and interiors helped me master the art of making plans, and I realised I had made one for myself, too: work as an Architect until age 60 and then become a full-time Artist. However, life had other plans. The Covid-19 pandemic was a profound wake-up call, serving as a powerful reminder that tomorrow is never promised and reaching age 60 is not guaranteed. It was time to live the dream NOW. 

Silver Spider Studio is the realization of that dream: a creative sanctuary where I share my artistic expressions and the life insights I’ve gathered along the way. I built this space to find and connect with like-minded creative souls. Welcome to my web—let’s weave our visions into reality together.
